i genuinely cannot believe this is a real person’s life trajectory

there’s this guy ben pasternak right. australian. dropped out of school at 15, moved to silicon valley, was literally on magazine covers as a teen prodigy. then he started a vegan chicken company, raised fifty million dollars, sold it, and then immediately – like the next month – launched a crypto token named after himself.

which is already a choice. but then the token collapsed and he launched another one. and that one collapsed and he launched another one called Believe. and the lawsuit that just got filed says he ran the same play three times, same structure every time, generate hype, pull in investors, collect fees, let it die.

and look i know that’s bad but here’s the thing that got me. the class action was filed march 23rd. eight days later something happened and now he’s been arrested and charged and is due in criminal court in june

he’s 26. he sold a vegan meat company fourteen months ago. FOURTEEN MONTHS. the vegan chicken was genuinely well reviewed by the way, like that part of his life was fine, people liked the nuggets.

everything after the nuggets has been a disaster. i don’t even know what the lesson is here. don’t sell your nugget company maybe. stay in nuggets.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
